Clinic Schedule

Hi all,
Our clinic is expanding rapidly and we know have clinic M-F for our Fetal Center patients and then M, Tu, Th, and F for our fetal heart patients. My question is, for fetal center patients, do you have any sort of set schedule in how you see those patients? Like certain diagnoses on certain days? Intervention patients all one day? TIA!

Hi Megan! We have a mix of block scheduling and ad hoc scheduling. The bulk of our Peds surg patients are seen M or T and Th/F with emergent add ons / exceptions. So this would be all surgical cases evals- for in utero and post op care. We typically see neurology cases on W. Neurosurg is typically Monday or TH, with exceptions Urology is a bit mixed but more heavily Friday. For ortho, plastics, nephrology and some of the genetics cases, we reach out to schedule time. We have MFM, Neo here every day. We find the block scheduling great for level setting expectations with patients for timeframes and efficient for admin scheduling. Hope that helps!

Hi Meg,
We are a mixed bag here at UC Davis, but we are relatively small - maybe some of the bigger Center's have gastroschisis day or CDH day. I can see how that could be nice for the consulting teams but if there is a "twins / multiples day" that might be harder on your sonographers . . .
